———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————When asked “what can I get you to drink?”, you say:

Tea.

What is the book (or books) you’ve given most as a gift, and why? Or what are one to three books that have greatly influenced your life?

  1. Glorious Rock Bottom by Bryony Gordon
  2. Untamed by Glennon Doyle
  3. Sober on Drunk Planet by Sean Alexander

Within your sobriety, what is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made? (Could be an investment of money, time, energy, etc.)

Patience - allowing myself time to process and heal.

What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love and only discovered after you got into sobriety?

My obsession with fizzy flavored water! Also, cooking new meals, walking, trying new things, and knitting! My newest obsession is home improvements.

Which area has changed the most, and for the better, in sobriety: health, wealth, relationships, or spirituality?

My relationships have improved beyond compare. I am a better mum, partner, friend, and colleague. I show up when I am supposed to and I’m present with people.

Also, my finances, motivation, and self-respect have improved. Can’t put a price on that!

When someone asks you, “why don’t you drink,” what do you say?

I’ve found that saying I’m an addict has helped me stay firm in my decision to cut out alcohol completely. It has taken away the grey area of thinking that, maybe one day I could moderate.
I don’t like who I become when I drink. I want to live life, not just exist. Most importantly my children deserve a sober mum.
